Digital Encode is Cybersecurity Company of the Year


Information security management and assurance services company, Digital Encode has emerged the Cybersecurity Company of the Year at the Beacon of Information and Communication Technology (BoICT) awards held in Lagos recently.
Digital Encode was presented with the prestigious award for its role in fighting electronic fraud and cybercrime, particularly in the implementation of global security standards such as PCIDSS, ISO 27001 and CoBIT for organisations in the country.

Receiving the award, Oluseyi Akindeinde, Chief Technical Officer, Digital Encode, expressed pleasure for being rewarded for hard work, “We are thrilled to have received the ‘Cybersecurity Company of the Year’ award, which was in recognition of our efforts in building technological capacity to assist organizations fight against electronic fraud as well as cybercrimes. It only goes to show recognition for what we have been doing. We truly appreciate it.”
It would be recalled that the Central Bank of Nigeria recently re-appointed Digital Encode Limited, as the sole technical partner to the Nigerian Electronic Fraud Forum.
This year, over 1.3 million readers voted in the different categories with Digital Encode emerging as the clear winner in theCybersecurity Company of the Year’ category’. The votes are testament to the company’s continuous contributions, innovations and commitment to the fight against cybercrimes, the organisers said.

Digital Encode is a leading consulting and integration firm that specialises in the design, management, and security of business-critical networks, telecommunications environments and other Information Technology (IT) infrastructures. NeFF, an initiative of the CBN, was set up for the identification, mitigation, prevention and prosecution of all electronic fraud-related acts perpetrated in the country. Digital Encode was therefore appointed to ensure that the NeFF gets all the technical supports it requires.
The company recently introduced a technology monitoring solution that could remotely monitor the cyberspace of organizations and report or stop unauthourised access to database. The solution, which was developed by the Centre for Information Security Intelligence (CISI), an arm of Digital Encode, was necessitated by the growing rate of cyber attacks and cyber espionage, leading to loss of data and money, running into several billions of naira.

At Digital Encode, technology serves two purposes: to save money and solve a problem. Digital Encode also provides advisory services toward improvements in Information Security Management, Network Security, Vulnerability Management, Penetration Testing, Computer Forensics, Risk Management and Business Continuity Management, Akindeinde said.
