Former MTN CEO, Mike Ikpoki Gets N350m Exit Package

After his resignation in December, 2015, Mr. Michael Ikpoki, former MTN Nigeria Chief Executive Officer(CEO), has received about $1.8 million (N350 million) as exit package, which includes his salary and post-employment benefits.

MTN was fined $5.2 billion (N1.04 tri) in October last year, for disregarding the directives of Nigerian Communication Commission’s – NCC (www.ncc.gov.ng )  on unregistered SIM card deactivation, which brought about the forceful resignation of Ikpoki and other executives..

MTN agrees in an integrated report that the Nigerian fine has “eroded investor confidence in the company and the group as a whole, and negatively impacted the reputation of MTN across our stakeholder groups”.
