Toyota Recalls 1.6m Cars for Airbag Inflator Issues

Toyota has recalled1.6 million vehicles across its Toyota, Scion and Lexus brands due to faulty airbags, which brings the total number of recalled vehicles to 4.73 million. Affected owners will be notified by mail, and the fix requires replacing either the inflator itself or the entire airbag assembly, depending on model.

The vehicles include

•        2009–2011 Toyota Corolla and Matrix

•        2006–2011 Toyota Yaris

•        2010–2011 Toyota 4Runner

•        2011 Toyota Sienna

•        2008–2011 Scion xB

•        2007–2011 Lexus ES

•        2010–2011 Lexus GX

•        2006–2011 Lexus IS
